Procedure

The competition is organised in two stages (see dates in the paragraph “Calendar”).

First stage entries

In phase one, each team must send to the competition secretariat, within the closing dates for receiving the projects, 2 vertical illustrated boards, format A0, including any elements that may help in understanding the project:

• a text outlining the main concepts of the project, its relevance, the logics of its construction, a description of the type of performance hosted and the principal dimensions adhered to;

• overall views on a scale of 1:50th : plan views, elevations, cross sections ;

• view of details: scale to be chosen by the candidate ;

• kinematics of mounting and dismounting ;

• three-dimensional views, general layout, diagrams or any graphic or written elements related to the criteria for judgement (see below);

In choosing the techniques used for the work submitted, candidates must allow for black and white reproduction of the illustrated plates in view of a possible publication in the competition catalog.

The competition is bilingual. All the texts and captions on the boards of one candidate must be in only one language, english or french.

The documents will be sent to Grands Ateliers, Boulevard de Villefontaine, BP 43, 38092 VILLEFONTAINE CEDEX. The candidates are solely responsible for the shipment of their documents. The competition organisers cannot be held responsible for any delays in receiving the documents; they decline all responsibility for loss or damages to the documents sent.

All dossiers which are incomplete or which fail to arrive on time will be refused.
